The Doctors September 4 2012
The Doctors September 4 is another don’t miss; the show will feature medical breakthroughs that could save your life. From the No Touch Breastscan to how modern cardiology could predict a future heart attack, The Doctors will be joined by specialists to explain some of the best and latest in medical advances.
Plus, Dr Sears will be taking a look at gadgets that could improve your health: from futuristic strollers that can charge your cell phone (no more dying batteries while on the go!) to sunglasses that can monitor your heartbeat.
The Doctors: Spina Bifida Surgery
Spina Bifida is a condition in which the spinal column and backbone do not close before birth, causing birth defects. The condition often occurs within two to three weeks after conception, before the mother even knows she is pregnant.
On The Doctors September 4 we’ll meet Justin and Clare, a couple whose child, Kellen, was born with clubbed feet as a result of Spina Bifida. Just six weeks after Kellen’s birth, Justin and Clare will join the Doctors to discuss an incredible surgery that was performed in-utero.
The Doctors: Jeff’s Medical Miracle
On The Doctors September 4 we’ll also meet Jeff, a man who developed a lump on his left temple that kept coming up with inconclusive test results. Later, the enormous mass was diagnosed as melanoma, which had spread the cancer to his lungs, liver, stomach and intestines.
Miraculously, Jeff survived, even though Doctors could not determine how! Two-and-a-half years later, Jeff is somehow symptom-free, and he and his wife will join the Doctors to discuss his incredible story.
All of this, plus a mobile hangover bus, a discussion on drinking alcohol after a workout, and much more, on The Doctors September 4.
