The Doctors: Young Girl 6 Months After Gastric Bypass Surgery
The Doctors had previously taken a closer look at the young girl who had a brain tumor removed, and then suffered from a condition causing her body to believe she was starving to death, making her body hold on to anything and everything she eats. The young girl, named Alexis, gained about 150 pounds in two years. Because of that condition, her parents elected to have her undergo gastric bypass surgery.
It’s now been a little over 6 months since Alexis had the surgery and since then she’s lost about 50 pounds. Alexis said she felt different and like she had more energy during a shopping trip with Dr. Rachael Ross. Alexis’ mom said she felt like she was getting bits and pieces of the old Alexis back. Dr. Ross then surprised Alexis with a state-of-the-art oval trampoline.
Dr. Ross said since the visit, Alexis is back to school and making friends. She’s on her way to looking and feeling better than she has in a long time.
The Drs TV: Which Is Worse, A Fly Or Cockroach In Your Food?
The Doctors asked which one is worse, a fly landing on your food or a cockroach in your food? The correct answer is the fly!
Dr. Drew Ordon explained that flies are two times worse in terms of carrying the things you don’t want in your food. The reason is because of the hairs and bristles on their legs and bodies, not to mention because they’re flying from feces to rotting food to roadkill, and then when they reach your food, they have the ability to pass on those germs.
So even thought the cockroach may look much worse, it’s the fly that can do more damage. I don’t want either one!
Dr. Stork shared that one of the greatest allergy causes in people’s homes are actually cockroach feces. Gross!
