In the ‘80s and ‘90s, John Tesh came into American homes on Entertainment Tonight. These days, he is a husband, father, pianist, and radio host. His program is called The John Tesh Radio Show: Intelligence For Your Life, and he said it has helped him realize “that there is a huge desire for people to solve their health problems.”

He said that listeners are hungry for tips and strategies that can help them be healthier in life. John Tesh joined The Doctors panel to weigh in on the green foods you can add to your diet. This is some great synergy, because his show sounds like the radio version of The Doctors.

The Drs: Green Diet

John Tesh and The Doctors explored health benefits of Kale and other green foods.

The John Tesh Radio Show: Intelligence For Your Life

John said his show airs five hours a day, six days a week. That sounds like an insane amount of work. He said his audience is over 8 million people, and they love to ask questions about weight loss and health.

He said he focuses on purpose-driven radio, because the audience needs quick tips because there is so much information out there in the world. “I’m really more of a curator than I am an expert,” John said.

The Drs TV: Great Green Foods

Diet is often a key to various health problems, conditions, and symptoms. Here are three foods The Doctors recommended to help target various body ailments.

Green Avocados

Avocados are actually great for your eyesight, and can even help you prevent blindness by lowering your risk for Macular Degeneration. This is a condition where your central vision gets out of focus and foggy over time.

John Tesh said he likes Avocado on his sandwiches, but is concerned about the fat content. But Dr. Travis said this is good, heart healthy fat. John said his cardiologist recommended Avocados to lower his blood pressure.

Parsley Bad Breath Cure

Did you know Parsley can cure Bad Breath? If you’ve been eating onions or garlic, you can turn to Parsley to cleanse your palate. The high level of Chlorophyll acts as a natural deodorizer. Here I thought Parsley was just a decorative garnish. The more you know!

The Doctors: Kiwi

Dr. Lisa Masterson said she loves Kiwi, and calls it nature’s candy. “It is one of the most antioxidant rich foods on the planet,” she explained, adding that it can even lower your blood pressure.

John Tesh said he read that Kiwi has a higher Vitamin C content than orange juice.

Kale Health Benefits

John said he frequently features stories and recipes about Kale on his radio show, but he doesn’t remember eating it as a child. “Maybe it just got invented or something,” he said.

He said there are a variety of Kale products on the market, including chips, shakes, and much more. Dr. Lisa said it is a super nutrient food, high in Vitamins A, C, and K.

Dr. Travis said it seems like the market is capitalizing on the popularity and health benefits of Kale. Dr. Andrew said that Kale juice fights cell damage, which can reduce wrinkles.

The Doctors sampled Chocolate Covered Kale, which sounds extravagant, but Dr. Travis swore was delicious. I thought that was a joke product, but apparently it’s real.

John Tesh: Green Tea Coffee

John Tesh said he loves to drink Green Tea, and it has a variety of health benefits, including antioxidants. But he enjoys coffee as well, so he figured out a way to combine them.

He put a green teabag in his coffee, letting him enjoy the taste of coffee along with the health perks of green tea. He said he only leaves the bag in the coffee for about 45 seconds.

The Doctors: Green Tea Benefits

Green Tea can also benefit your blood vessels along with many other things. Dr. Travis said if you like coffee in the morning, you could always switch to green tea in the afternoon.
