The Drs: Kim Kardashian & Kanye West Trying For Baby Number Two
The Doctors shared that Kim Kardashian claimed that her and husband Kanye West have been attempted to conceive baby number two 500 times a day. The 34-year-old hasn’t been shy about how badly she wants a sibling for 1-year-old North. But really, is 500 even possible?
Dr Drew Ordon said, “Do we really care?” Dr Travis Stork said there’s not a man in this world that can do that 500 times a day. Dr Jennifer Ashton said in order to do that within a 24-hour period, you would have to have intercourse every 2.8 minutes.
The Drs: Trying To Conceive
Dr Ashton said people who are trying to have a baby really should just try to have intercourse every 24-48 hours, because you want to allow things to regenerate. If you’re trying to conceive, “There’s something to be said for building up the reservoir.”
Dr Rachael Ross said our bodies are designed to receive as many times as someone gives, while guys have to recuperate. Like Dr Stork said, if anything, Kim Kardashian got people talking once again. Dr Stork said he was “sore thinking about” 500 times.
The Drs: Black Licorice Danger
The Doctors then moved on to share that licorice could actually turn out to be toxic and deadly. A young boy was hospitalized after a black licorice binge led him to have convulsive seizures. The Doctors were confused at first, but then MRIs revealed brain swelling and high levels of cortisol. They discovered he had been eating at least 20 pieces of licorice a day for four months. High doses of black licorice can trigger high blood pressure.
After the patient stopped eating the licorice, his condition improved. The Doctors explained that an ingredient in black licorice can prevent the breakdown of cortisol. People 40 or over should not eat more than two ounces of black licorice daily in a two-week period. You should also avoid licorice two weeks before surgery, because it can interfere with blood pressure.
People often think of licorice as a candy, but it’s actually a root. Dr Ashton said licorice can cause hormonal changes that can affect pregnancy and breastfeeding. Dr Ross said it’s all about moderation.
