The Doctors TV Show today was focused on answering the question of How to Reverse Your Biggest Body Problems.  One of the problems that people want to know about is how to reverse high blood pressure.  Have you heard of the DASH Diet – Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension Diet?  Here is what The Drs TV Show had to say about the DASH Diet and lowering high blood pressure.

The question came from a fan of The Doctors who said that she has high blood pressure and is working on lowering it, but when The Doctors DASH Dietshe gets it lowered, how does she keep it low?  The Doctors said that we have a lot of control over our blood pressure.  There is a new diet called the DASH Diet, which is well explained in the book The DASH Diet Action Plan.  DASH stands for Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension.  In this diet, you basically decrease your sodium intake and increase the amount of vegetables and whole grains that you eat.  Plus, you should increase the amount of exercise that you get.  1/3 of us have high blood pressure and some of us have it no matter what we do.  If you fall under this category and no  matter what you do, your blood pressure will not go down, you should talk to your doctor about various medications like Beta Blockers and Ace Inhibitors to help lower your blood pressure.  You want to aim to have your blood pressure at or below 120/80 according to Dr Travis Stork.  Another great tip to lower hypertension is to reduce the amount of stress in your life!
