The Doctors: Vibrations “Down There”
Dr. Rachael Ross and OB/GYN Dr. Jennifer Ashton tackled some female issues on The Doctors’ TMI Tuesday. Michelle, a Doctors viewer, needed some help with a bizarre problem that she just doesn’t understand. She experiences a vibrating sensation “down there” and around her entire pelvic region. What could be causing these mysterious pelvic vibrations?
Michelle explained that while the sensation is not pleasurable, it’s not painful. It can sometimes be uncomfortable, but most of all, it’s just strange. Dr. Ashton had several potential explanations, including a muscle twitch or a neuromuscular problem.
Because Michelle couldn’t pinpoint a pattern, Dr. Ashton and Dr. Travis Stork advised that she visit her gynecologist for more information. Depending on the issue at hand, Botox injections could be a potential solution.
Nipple Shape and Sizes
Another viewer complained of nipples that are constantly perky. It doesn’t sound like a serious problem, but it’s so bad that she sometimes has to wear bandages. She noticed this issue after giving birth to her first child.
Dr. Ashton explained that pregnancy causes different changes to the breasts, and that includes the nipples. Potential solutions include finding the right bra and keeping the breasts warm when it’s cold out. However, there is a surgical solution as well. Dr. Andrew Ordon explained how a plastic surgeon can sew the bottom of the nipple down so that the nipple can no longer stand up. Dr. Ordon emphasized that this can be done with “minimal to no loss of sensation.”
The Doctors then evaluated different types of nipples in correlation to different types of round foods: pepperoni, pancakes, fried eggs and more. All women have different sizes, colors and shapes to their nipples. However, if something changes abruptly, that could be a sign of something more serious going on.
