The Drs: Madonna Brit Awards Fall
The Doctors kicked off their February 27 show with their Friday News Feed, talking about Madonna‘s recent fall at the Brit Awards. She fell down three large stairs after a “miscue” from her wardrobe. Apparently they were trying to pull her cape off but the cape didn’t come off. Madonna stood right back up and continued her performance. Dr Jennifer Ashton said performing like that is an athletic event and she’s 56 years old but in really great shape.
Dr Travis Stork pointed out that you can clearly see her fall on her left hip and at her age, you can definitely start to develop some bone issues. For her, it’s a sign that she’s incredibly healthy. Dr Ashton said it’s more than just muscle and bone strength; it’s also about flexibility. Dr Stork said you really shouldn’t be working out for the aesthetics anyway; that’s just a side benefit. He said it’s about how you’re improving the way you’re moving.
The Drs: Molly Drug Overdose
The Doctors then moved on to talk about the powdered form of the drug MDMA, known as Molly. Madonna recently called out asking who had seen Molly while at a club, and claimed that she was referring to a friend’s song, but The Doctors didn’t buy it.
The drug recently sent dozens of people to the hospital, after the Wesleyan University students admitted to taking Molly. Four students were arrested in connection with distribution and they were actually neurosciences students. Dr Ashton said it shows that the drug is being used by all kinds of people, including those who are incredibly smart.
The Drs: Powdered Form Of MDMA
Dr Ashton said they’re actually stupid when it comes to common sense because the first time you take the drug could be your last. Dr Stork said he will never forget the parents of a young student who died from one-time use of Molly. Dr Stork explained that the powdered form of ecstasy is supposedly super concentrated, but MDMA has actually been used in very controlled settings to potentially treat PTSD.
The reality is that the DEA found that only 13% of the Molly seized in New York contained any MDMA, which means that the substance that people are calling Molly is full of mysterious components. He said you have no idea what you’re really getting. Dr Ashton said it’s something you don’t want to play around with, even if you did know what’s in it.
The Drs: Man Blames Fifty Shades For Assault Charge
The Doctors then talked about a 19-year-old student at the University of Illinois Chicago who said he was reenacting scenes from Fifty Shades of Grey, when he was accused of aggravated assault. He brought a woman back to his room and was using belts to restrain her and even potentially beat her. He said he knew he was doing something wrong, but blamed the movie for it. “Fifty Shades of not okay,” Dr Stork said.
Dr Ashton said she read all three of the books and thinks that one good thing about the series is that it’s stimulating conversation. She said what’s not okay is for someone to force someone to do something and then not take responsibility for what you’ve done. Dr Stork said he’s heard that a lot of people who use the techniques have safe words.
Dr Stork said it’s a movie and the books are fiction, so you have to be careful when reenacting them to not cross any lines.
The Drs: Giuliana Rancic Zendaya Comment
The Doctors moved on again to talk about how Giuliana Rancic apparently made a comment about Disney star Zendaya in reference to her hair. She said she smelled like “weed” and “patchouli oil” because of her dreadlocks. It caused a huge controversy and reportedly Rancic’s co-host Kelly Osbourne was incredibly upset by it.
Dr Ashton said she doesn’t understand why people think they can say something that is going to hurt other people’s feelings. She made a point to say that Zendaya is incredibly gorgeous and she’s “tired of the mean.”
Zendaya posted on Twitter: “Giuliana I appreciate your apology and I’m glad it was a learning experience for you and for the network. I hope others negatively affected by her words can also find it in her hearts to accept her apology as well.”
Dr Ashton said Giuliana has been the victim of comments online about her weight as well, so it just goes to show you how mean people are online.
