This drink is inspired by American Hustle. You could also call it American Hustle Hooch. Carla Hall does not drink, but she said that she orders mocktails with fresh ingredients muddled in a glass of lemonade.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 3 tbsp Mint
  • 3 Brandied Cherries
  • 1 1/2 oz White Rum
  • 1 oz Simple Syrup
  • Soda Water

Directions

  1. Heat sugar and water on low until they dissolve together.
  2. Strain and reserve this simple syrup.
  3. Muddle cherries with mint in highball glasses. Let stand before serving.
  4. Layer ice cubes, rum, and simple syrup.
  5. Splash with soda water, garnish with mint, and serve.

Clinton Kelly: The Chew Lemon Rosemary Martini Recipe

This cocktail was created in honor of the film Her, which could also be called the Just For Her Martini.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 3 sprigs Rosemary
  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 1/2 oz Lemon Juice

Directions

  1. Heat a cup each of water and sugar, along with rosemary, on low heat to make simple syrup.
  2. Once sugar dissolves, strain syrup into a container.
  3. Combine 1/2 oz rosemary simple syrup with the vodka and lemon juice.
  4. Shake ingredients together over ice in a cocktail shaker.
  5. Strain into a martini glass and serve with a lemon twist.

The Ginger Rabbit could also be called The Gravi-Tea, inspired by best picture nominee Gravity.

Bergamot Syrup Ingredients

  • 1 Earl Grey Tea Bag
  • 1 slice Ginger
  • Warm Simple Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1/2 oz Bergamot Simple Syrup
  • 1 slice Lemon Peel
  • 1/2 oz Chambord
  • 1 slice Ginger
  • 2 oz Bourbon
  • 1 dash Bitters

Directions

  1. Heat a cup each of water and sugar on low heat to make simple syrup.
  2. Once sugar dissolves, add ginger and tea bag and steep on medium low for 15 minutes.
  3. Discard tea bag and strain syrup into a container.
  4. Combine fresh ginger with syrup in a glass.
  5. Twist peel over the glass and drop it in the center.
  6. Muddle the drink.
  7. Add remaining ingredients. Fill with ice.
  8. Strain and serve over fresh ice in a rocks glass.
