Entertainer and Let’s Make a Deal host Wayne Brady visited The Chew kitchen for Extra Value Friday, where he learned how to make these Chicken Fried Steak Nuggets with Clinton Kelly.

Wayne Brady said that ice cream is one of his favorite comfort foods. He also loves to share baked macaroni and cheese with his 11-year-old daughter, Maile. He is more of a mellow, friendly dad so that he can keep the lines of communication open.

Brady hosts Let’s Make a Deal, weekdays on CBS, and The Chew audience had some fun in a quick food-themed version, Let’s Make a Meal. You can also see him as the host of BET Honors, airing Monday, February 24 2014. He said he felt a responsibility to showcase the talents and achievements of those being honored at this year’s ceremony.

The Chew: Chicken Fried Steak Nuggets Recipe with Buttermilk Dip

If your kids like chicken nuggets and the adults enjoy chicken fried steak, this is a recipe that will satisfy everyone.

  • 2 lb tenderized Eye Round Steak
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp dried Thyme
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 1/2 cups Flour
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1/4 tsp ground Cayenne Pepper
  • Canola Oil
  • Salt & Pepper

Dip Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 tsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1/4 tsp ground Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 tsp chopped Chives
  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 tsp chopped Parsley
  • 1 tsp chopped Dill

Clinton Kelly: The Chew Chicken Fried Steak Nuggets Recipe Directions

  1. Salt steak and let sit for half an hour at room temperature.
  2. Cut meat into 1” nuggest.
  3. Combine milk and egg in a baking dish with some salt.
  4. In another dish, combine flour, salt, pepper, and seasoning ingredients.
  5. Heat one inch of canola oil in a cast iron skillet to 350 F.
  6. Coat steak in milk and drip off extra.
  7. Dredge meat in flour and shake off extra.
  8. Once meat is fully coated, gently place in oil.
  9. Work in batches and don’t overcrowd the frying pan.
  10. Fry four minutes, until nuggets are golden on all sides.
  11. Let rest on a plate.
  12. Continue cooking until you have used all the steak.
  13. Whisk buttermilk dip ingredients together and serve alongside nuggets.
