The Chew May 13 2013 Preview

Recapo Upate: Here are the segments from today’s show:

The Chew: Fact Or Fiction Roast Chicken Recipe – Brining vs Seasoning

The Chew: Chocolate Chip Hummus Recipe & Tasty Trashy Taters Recipe

It looks like The Chew will be all about what’s on television on May 13 2013. Barbara Corcoran and Daymond John of ABC’s Shark Tank will be visiting the show to judge the best recipes of three viewers. There will also be a sneak preview of Mario Batali, Michael Symon, Carla Hall and Daphne Oz’s appearance on General Hospital.

Shark Tank, the ABC reality TV show where aspiring entrepreneurs pitch their product or idea to potential investors, is coming to The Chew. Three of the show’s regular viewers better come with their best recipes if they’re going to be judged by Shark Tank‘s Barbara Corcoran and Daymond John.

I’m wondering myself what exactly the competitors will get if their dish is deemed the best by the judges. Will they help the winner start a restaurant? Fund a cookbook for them? Pat them on the back and say “good job?” What?

Either way, I’m wondering how harsh these judges will be. I’ve never seen Shark Tank before, so I can’t say how tough they are on contestants, but I think The Chew could use a little more drama in the form of some tears and shattered hopes of culinary stardom. Part of me wants to see this. I will admit to that.

The Chew Co-Hosts Appear On General Hospital

Nothing says midday television like “soap opera,” and nothing says “soap opera” like “General Hospital,” and NOTHING says “General Hospital” like “celebrity chef”…wait, what? Yeah, apparently, Mario Batali, Michael Symon, Carla Hall and Daphne Oz will all be appearing on the daytime drama. What their contributions to the show will be remain (understandably) unclear right now, but I guess that’s what Monday’s show will be for. Have a good weekend, everybody!
