The Chew is getting into the fiesta spirit, well before Cinco De Mayo time. On the menu for The Chew’s March 13 2013 episode are an Aztec Chicken Casserole Recipe, homemade salsa, and authentic tortillas.

The Chew March 13 2013 is throwing a winter fiesta, with an Aztec Chicken Casserole Recipe, Stuffed Poblano & Green Chili Salsa, and authentic tortillas.

Cookbook author Pati Jinich will be a guest in The Chew kitchen, helping Mario Batali create an Aztec Chicken Casserole Recipe.

Casserole is a great late winter dish, because it is still hearty for cold days, it makes great leftovers, and it can be loaded with fresh ingredients to remind you that better weather and patio margarita parties are on the horizon.

But you need something a little sweet or tart to cut the heat, and that is why they will also be creating a Spinning Top Drink on The Chew March 13 2013.

The Chew: Stuffed Poblano & Green Chili Salsa

In another installment of the C&C Salsa Factory (who doesn’t love a ‘90s reference?), Carla Hall and Clinton Kelly are working together again to make a homemade dip your friends will crave.

This time, they are mixing stuffed poblano peppers with green chilis to make a salsa that guests will not stop talking about. My advice? Make a second batch and stash it away for later.

The Chew: Tortilleria Nixtamel Queens

Plus, The Chew correspondent Evette Rios is headed to Queens, New York, where she will be visiting Tortilleria Nixtamal. She will show us how this authentic place makes its own tortillas from scratch and what goes into creating an unforgettable Mexican food experience.

That’s all coming up on The Chew March 13 2013, so check back to get all the recipes and throw a fiesta of your own.
