The Chew has a great episode September 23, 2014, celebrating the release of their new book The Chew: A Year of Celebrations with a big bash. Plus, they’ll have some of the recipes from the book, including a Fig Upside-Down Cake recipe and a Braised Short Ribs with Pearl Onions and Potatoes recipe. Check it out below!
The Chew: A Year of Celebrations
Is it lame to dedicate a whole episode of The Chew to the release of their new book? Yes. Unequivocally, yes. That’s not really a theme. It’s a shameless self-promotion. But The Chew is known for making fun of itself, so maybe they’ll poke fun at the fact that they’re shamelessly self-promoting.
Besides, it’ll be interesting what they have to say about the book. Will it be evenly divided between the chefs? I don’t think it’s a secret that the show is pretty unevenly Michael Symon and Mario Batali heavy. Sure, Daphne jumps in with a healthy recipe and Carla makes a dessert now and then, and even more rare, Clinton will stop hosting to make something, but for the most part, it’s the Mario and Michael show. Is that how the book is?
I personally get more from Daphne’s recipes than anyone else’s. But I guess everyone has their favorite. There will probably be something for everyone in the new book.
The Chew: Fig Upside Down Cake Recipe & Braised Short Ribs with Pearl Onions and Potatoes Recipe
The Chew crew will also make a great Fig Upside Down Cake recipe, which is probably (but not necessarily) Carla’s recipe and Braised Short Ribs with Pearl Onions and Potatoes, which I’m betting is a Michael Symon recipe. So it’s hard to tell from these recipes exactly how the cookbook will be divided.
But no matter what happens, both those recipes sound absolutely delicious, so I’m sure it’ll be great! Tune in September 23, 2014 to find out all about it!
