The Chew: Jussie Smollett Empire
Jussie Smollett is best known for two projects: The Mighty Ducks, which was a huge part of my childhood, and Empire, one of the biggest shows out there right now. The series surrounds the founder of a hip hop and entertainment company and his family as each person vies for control of it. The critics are loving the show, particularly Taraji P. Henson’s acting. If you ask me, Taraji was due for some critical acclaim. She’s great in everything.
But Jussie Smollett plays the gay singer-songwriter son of the homophobic founder, whose relationship with his father is strained. He’s getting lots of well-deserved buzz, too.
Now, Jussie Smollett is coming by The Chew to whip up something delicious. Can he cook? We’ll find out on February 19, 2015.
The Chew: Iconic Meals of the Past
The Chew crew will also be cooking “iconic meals of the past”. I’m not sure what that means. Will they be delving into their personal histories, cooking meals their parents made for them when they were small? Could we see a mac and cheese and cut up hot dogs recipe, or maybe a nice peanut butter and jelly?
Or are we talking meals from the American past? Will they cook a recipe made for a past president, or a famous actor? I can’t think of any iconic meals of the past, other than when the Pilgrims and Native Americans sat down for Thanksgiving dinner.
Tune into The Chew on February 19, 2015, for all of this and so much more!
