The Chew: DC Central Kitchen
The Chew crew will visit DC Central Kitchen on October 1, 2014. DC Central Kitchen is a remarkable kitchen which specializes in a number of great programs, from reducing hunger with recycled food, helping to train unemployed adults for culinary careers, rebuilding urban food systems, and serving healthy school meals. They’re a wonderful place with a great mission and they’ve helped change the lives of many people with their initiatives, most notably people who lost work as a result of the recession or for some other reason. They’re helping to provide many families with the tools they need to turn their lives around.
It’ll be wonderful to see what this segment looks like and what we’ll learn about this wonderful organization!
The Chew: Hearty Fall Meals
The Chew crew will also be preparing some great hearty fall meals. With fall in full swing and cold weather and the great meal holidays on the way, it’ll be great to get some tips and tricks for hearty meals.
Can we expect stews, chilies, and things of that nature? Or will this be more traditional down home food, like briskets and roast turkey and baked chicken? I’m not sure. We’ll have to tune in to find out, but I’m hoping for at least one gourmet mashed potatoes recipe. I love mashed potatoes and it would be nice to know a few ways to class them up.
Who knows? You family’s next dinner could be inspired by the recipes The Chew crew wipes up on their show on October 1, 2014. So be sure to tune in and see what they’re working with!
