It seems like The Chew crew will be dispensing with their usual Extra Value Friday theme and going rogue on February 28 to show you how you can make an Oscar party to remember. But before we get to the big menu for The Chew’s Ultimate Oscar Party, there is some big news to share: congratulations to Daphne Oz!
The Chew: Daphne Oz Welcomes Baby Girl
On Wednesday, February 26, The Chew co-host Daphne Oz and her husband, John Jonvanovic, welcomed their first child into the world. Mother and child are doing well, though the baby’s name has yet to be released. Dr Oz also confirmed the good news in a tweet on Thursday, February 27.
We first learned about Daphne’s big news during The Chew’s season three premiere in September 2013. She is expected to return to the show after her maternity leave in late April 2014.
The Chew: Ultimate Oscar Party
You can actually see a very pregnant Daphne coming up on the February 28 show, which was taped before this week’s amazing news. She and the crew are throwing a huge party with former Oscar nominee Rosie Perez, who is on the show to promote her new release, Handbook For an Unpredictable Life.
Find out how you can host your own Academy Awards viewing party at home in style. Clinton Kelly is making the drinks, while Mario, Carla, and Daphne are sharing some dishes inspired by the year’s hottest films. Be sure to get all the recipes and neat ideas from the Friday, February 28 episode of The Chew.
It’s going to be a busy hour, and it is all leading up to the Academy Awards telecast on Sunday, March 2, which will be hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, another familiar face from the world of daytime television. Do you have a favorite movie from the past year? Was it nominated for any big awards at this year’s ceremony?
