Rachael Ray: Freezer Show
On March 29 2013, Rachael Ray is having her first ever freezer show. She’s going on a freezing spree that includes soups, stews and sauces. Top Chef alum Richard Blais brings his cooling strategies to help Rachael. It starts to look like a mad scientist is on the loose! Then, One Republic has a special performance for Rachael.
Rachael Ray: Tips For Freezing
If you love to cook, you probably also know the trick of saving leftovers to enjoy again. In case you’re in the bracket that likes to cook all of your meals on Sunday night, these freezer tips might save you some headaches.
Did you know that you can just cut off freezer burn? Your meats aren’t ruined! Also, if you’re freezing sauces and soups, you shouldn’t put them in the freezer hot. Let them cool and then put them in the freezer. Sound unsanitary to leave stuff out too long? Rachael’s trick is filling a big bowl with ice and water, then sticking your hot bowl or ziplock back inside it. By spinning this around a couple times, your food will cool in a jiffy and you can proceed to freeze.
Top Chef’s Richard Blais is Rachael’s mad scientist. He’s got his own strategies for cooling his food off. He’s also bringing ice cream and margarita tips! In the words of Rachael, yummo.
