Live With Kelly: Grilling with the Stars
Grilling with the Stars is a popular summer cooking segment on “Live With Kelly.” All summer long, celebrities have appeared to teach the hosts and viewers one of their favorite grill recipes. Eventually, the recipe with the most votes will win $25,000 for the charity of the celebrity’s choice, plus the coveted “Mirror Weiner” trophy– not to mention bragging rights!
All summer long, we’ve learned some great summer recipes from a host of stars: first, “Melissa & Joey” star Joey Lawrence shared his healthy Fish Tacos. Then, we learned a healthy vegan dish from actress Marilu Henner, and “Sister Act” star Raven-Symone made Divine Honey Lime Grilled Tuna. Singer Ashanti stopped by to make Pineapple Chicken Skewers. Caroline Manzo from the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” taught the hosts how to make her famous Short Rib Sliders. Lastly, actress Kristen Johnson appeared with her recipe for Summer Steak Salad.
Carla Gugino: Chipotle Mahi-Mahi
On “Live With Kelly” July 20, actress Carla Gugino appeared behind the grill with her recipe for Chipotle Mahi-Mahi. Carla is currently starring alongside Sigourney Weaver on the USA miniseries Political Animals, which airs on Sunday nights at 9 PM. Her charity is African’s Children Choir.
Here is Carla’s quick and easy recipe for delicious Chipotle Mahi-Mahi:
- 6 oz. of Mahi-Mahi
- 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
- 2 tbs finely chopped Chipotle in Adobo Sauce
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Fresh Chopped Cilatnro
- Grill the Mahi-Mahi steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side, until they have nice grill marks.
- Mix the mayo and chipotle with salt and pepper in order to create your Chipotle Mayo topping.
- Add the cooked Mahi-Mahi to a bun and add ingredients of your choice such as avocado or lettuce. Top with the Chipotle Mayo and fresh cilantro. Or, if you like, just add the fish to a bed of lettuce.
