Sofia Vergara: Modern Family and The Three Stooges
Sofia Vergara is one of the highest paid stars in TV, according to recent media reports. She’s probably best known as the heavily accented Gloria Pritchett on ABC’s hit Modern Family. This summer, she also had a role in the big screen reimagining of the classic comic trio The Three Stooges. She talked about everything that’s been keeping her so busy in the past year; with all these jobs, including a guest hosting stint on Saturday Night Live, it’s no wonder she is raking it in.
Gabourey Sidibe: Showtime’s The Big C
You probably know her from her breakout role in the heartbreaking film Precious. But more recently, Gabourey Sidibe has been showcasing her comedic side as a supporting player on the Showtime series The Big C, which follows a woman after her diagnosis with Stage 4 cancer. Laura Linney is the star, whose character works as a teacher, and Gabourey Sidibe plays Andrea, one of her students. The series was recently renewed for a fourth and final season, to air in 2013 on Showtime. Gabourey Sidibe recalled enjoying a recent vacation. How did you spend your free time this summer?
Pauly D: The Pauly D Project
After several successful seasons of Jersey Shore, MTV decided to let some of the show’s breakout stars explore their own spinoff series. One of those is The Pauly D Project, which follows Pauly D in his career as a DJ. Also getting the spinoff treatment are Snooki & JWoww. The girls made the talk show rounds earlier this summer to talk about Snooki & JWoww, which follows the girls during Snooki’s infamous pregnancy.
Chef Jacques Torres: Tempered Chocolate Recipe
Chef Jacques Torres taught Kelly Ripa how to make his Tempered Chocolate Recipe.
2 lbs. Chocolate
- Half fill a saucepan with water, over medium heat.
- Suspend a heat resistant mixing bowl over the pan.
- Place 2/3 of your chocolate in the bowl.
- Stir chocolate with a spatula until it reaches 100 F, or until 2/3 of the chocolate melts.
- Remove bowl and stir in additional chocolate.
- As chocolate crystallizes around the edges, stir it back in.
- Reheat melted chocolate over pan of water until it reaches about 90 F.
