Kelly & Michael: Chris Byrne’s Top Toys From The 2013 Toy Fair

Chris Byrne: 2013 Toy Fair

Leave it to “the toy guy,” Chris Byrne, to bring us the coolest new toys around. Chris recently visited the 2013 Toy Fair, and he brought Kelly & Michael some of his top picks. Toy segments are always fun because, not only do we get to see Kelly & Michael act like kids, but we also learn great gift ideas for upcoming birthdays and holidays.

Let’s take a look at some of Chris’s top picks from the 2013 Toy Fair. They’re the toys your kids will be clamoring for in the coming year.

Kelly & Michael: Chris Byrne's Top Toys From The 2013 Toy Fair

Chris Byrne shared the hottest new toys from the 2013 Toy Fair on Live! With Kelly & Michael.

Chris Byrne: Flying Toys

  • The Flutterbye Fairies ($34.99) fly through the air like magic. I can see any little girl going crazy over them.
  • For kids who prefer their flying toys a bit more heroic, there are the Flying Heroes ($16.99) such as Wolverine and Spiderman.
  • Sky Ripperz ($14.99) is a game that your kids will love to play. They can launch the ripperz at a target (or at each other).
  • Disney Planes Pilot Pals Dusty Crophopper Remote Control Plane ($39.99) copies the movements of the person controlling it.

Chris Byrne: Creative Toys

  • The Glow Crazy Pattern Painter ($19.99) allows your kids to draw with glow-in-the-dark paint.
  • Kelly tried out the Kid Construction Dragon ($39.99) which is a giant dragon you can make from scratch.
  • In the Boom Boom Balloon Game ($19.99), the person who breaks the balloon first loses.

Chris Byrne: Dolls & Stuffed Animals

  • The Bitsy Burpsy Baby Doll ($24.95) throws up and has a wet diaper.
  • I much preferred the Furreal Friends Cuddles, My Giggly Monkey Pet ($79.99), that at least looked soft and fluffy.

Chris Byrne: Remote Control Toys

  • Kids who prefer more complex toys will love the Hot Wheels Spinshotz Rail Rip Race ($39.99), Mind Stormz EV3 ($349.99) and the Combat Creature Attacknid Robot ($99).

About the author

After my childhood dream of achieving Olympic figure skating gold fell through, I moved on to Plan B: become a writer. I've been writing since I can remember, and consider myself lucky to be making a career out of it. I graduated from Marymount Manhattan College in 2011, and since that time, I have worked as a writer, editor and blogger. Luckily for this site, my love of TV borders on obsession.

Where can I buy the fairybye fairy toy shown on show. I can’t find it anywhere even on line. Thanks

    • Since some of these toys are just coming on the scene this year, they may not yet be available for purchase. If you are having trouble finding one, that could be the reason.
