Kelly Ripa: Claire Danes Homeland Interview
A New York City native, Claire Danes has grown from promising young actress to one of Hollywood’s most sought-after stars. At just fifteen, Claire won a Golden Globe Award for her role on the cult high school television series My So-Called Life, in which she starred as angst-ridden teen Angela Chase. Since that time, Claire has won two more Golden Globes and an Emmy Award. In addition to television, Claire has starred in countless films, such as Romeo + Juliet alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, as well as theater.

Claire is currently starring in the critically-acclaimed Showtime drama series Homeland in which she plays CIA Agent Carrie Mathison. For her role, she is nominated at the 2012 Primetime Emmy Awards, airing later this month. Claire is also currently expecting her first child with husband Hugh Dancy, so there’s lots of good news to chat about!
Claire will join Kelly Ripa– plus Kelly’s surprise new co-host– on September 4 to discuss the upcoming second season of Homeland.
Live With Kelly: Olympians Aly Raisman & Jordyn Wieber
This summer at the 2012 London Olympic Games, the “Fierce Five” gymnastics team captured the hearts of the nation– not to mention some serious hardware– as they led the American team to bring home Women’s All-Around Gold for the first time since the 1996 Games. Jordyn Wieber and Aly Raisman are two of these talented young athletes; eighteen-year-old team captain Aly also won won two more medals, bronze and gold, in individual events, while seventeen-year-old Jordyn is also the 2011 All-Around World Champion. These two very accomplished ladies will stop by Live! on September 4 to share their incredible Olympic experiences.
Kelly Ripa: Phillip Phillips Performance
Phillip Phillips is a 21-year-old singer from Leesburg, Georgia. In May of 2012, Phillip became the winner of American Idol’s 11th season. He has played music since he was a young teenager, and in addition to singing, Phillip writes his own music and also plays guitar.
Back in May, Phillip promised Kelly via phone call that he would perform on the show after he recovered from kidney stone surgery. Luckily, Phillip is now doing great and is ready to fulfill that promise; the young singer-songwriter will perform for the Live! audience on September 4.
