Kelly & Michael: Football Frenzy Party
Not everyone will have the chance to attend the Super Bowl, but there are plenty of ways to celebrate by throwing your own Super Bowl party. To wrap up Football Frenzy Week, Kelly & Michael got great party tips from The Nest editor Carley Roney. Get cocktail ideas, serve tiny snacks, and play Super Bowl bingo during the commercials!
Kelly and Michael: Emerald Martini & Bronco Blue Cocktail
Great drinks are a must at any party, Carley said. She suggested an Emerald Martini for Seattle fans or a Bronco Blue Martini with blue curacao.
If you’re not a martini fan, beer is always a good option. Choose a microbrew from Washington or Colorado to show your team spirit among party guests.
Football Hot Chocolate: Super Bowl Non-Alcoholic Drinks
For non-alcoholic options, decorate water bottles or Gatorade with team colors. Since it could be a long day, have guests label their cups with name stickers, to cut down on dishes or mixed up drinks.
Hot chocolate could be prudent given the cold temperatures in much of the country. Carley told Kelly and Michael to use white tape to decorate clear hot chocolate cups to make them look like footballs.
Kelly and Michael: Super Bowl Football Snacks
Use white frosting to create football grip lines on chocolate covered strawberries for a themed party treat. But you are going to want plenty of other snacks. Tiny food is popular at parties, an assessment Kelly agreed with Carley about.
Her suggestions included hamburgers, hot dogs, and grilled cheese. Small serving sizes let guests try a little bit of everything. Again, you can keep it local. Washington State’s official vegetable is onions, which means it’s a perfect excuse to serve onion rings.
Chili is a Super Bowl must, according to The Nest. Use regional ingredients to customize your spiced flavor blends.
Kelly & Michael: Super Bowl Bingo & Party Photo Booth
Create your own photo booth at your party to keep guests entertained. Pick up cheap football props from a party store or the $1 section and set up an area to take photos, like Kelly & Michael did. Create your own hashtag to share the best pics on social media.
Make or download Super Bowl bingo cards for the brands that may pop up during the big money commercials of the game. What a fun idea! Use a regulation-size football as the guest book for your event, or give one away as the bingo prize.
Set up a candy bar at your table, saving the sugar for later in the game. Guests can load up their own candy bags with a variety of favorite treats. Kelly and Michael had bags matching their team colors.
