Cobra Starship are a pop band formed in New York City in 2003. The band was first stared as a solo project by singer Gabe Saporta, but then Gabe enlisted the help of guitarist Ryland Blackinton, bassist Alex Suarez, keytarist Victoria Asher, and drummer Nate Navarro, and Cobra Starship was born!

Since the release of their debut album While the City Sleeps, We Rule the Streets, Cobra Starship have released three successful albums. The band came to international attention is 2009, after the release of their album Hot Mess, which featured the hit single “Good Girls Go Bad.” Since that time, the band have toured the world several times over.

Cobra Starship’s latest release is called Night Shades, their fourth full-length album. On “Live With Kelly” August 9, we took a look back at Cobra Starship’s performance at the Disney Aulani Resort & Spa on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. The band sang their hit single “Middle Finger.” The  song is the second single from Night Shades, which followed the success of their biggest song to date, “You Make Me Feel…”.

Cobra Starship performed “Middle Finger” for the “Live” audience in Hawaii in their signature energetic, colorful style! When they finished playing, Kelly joined the band on stage and thanked them for appearing on the show. Lead singer Gabe thanked Kelly in return, saying that she saved them a twenty-two hour flight, because they’re on their way to Australia! After Australia, the band were set to hit countries like the Philippines and then, Japan.


Night Shades is in record stores and on available on iTunes, and Kelly said that the album is filled with “hit after hit.”
