It’s been quite some time since we’ve heard new music from British singer-songwriter Dido, but she made her return with a performance on Live! with Kelly & Michael. Four years ago in 2008, Dido released her last album, Safe Trip Home. Her first album in those four long years away from music, Girl Who Got Away, was released March 26 2013. Michael, guest co-host Kristin Chenoweth and the Live! audience were lucky enough to witness an exclusive performance of Dido’s latest hit, “No Freedom.”

Dido: New Album Girl Who Got Away Review

Dido first came to prominence with her smash hit single “Thank You,” released on her 1999 debut album No Angel. The best-selling song became an international phenomenon and was even sampled by rapper Eminem. Dido’s new album, Girl Who Got Away, features 11 brand new songs and a collaboration with Kendrick Lamar. Fans of Dido can order their copy of the just-released album right now.

Dido: “No Freedom” Performance

“No Freedom” is Dido’s latest song, and she performed the new hit for the audience. Accompanied only by her guitar and bandmates, Dido sang in her signature, soothing style. She even remained seated for the thoroughly intimate performance.

When she finished playing, Kristin and Michael welcomed Dido back to the show and also back to music in general. Dido explained that she took some time off after having a baby, her son Stanley, who was born in the summer of 2011. Now, she’s glad to be making her return to music and is hoping to plan a tour sometime soon.
