Carly Rae Jepsen: Debut Album Kiss
Carly Rae Jepsen is the young Canadian singer who became an overnight superstar thanks to the success of “Call Me Maybe,” 2012’s summer mega-hit and bonafide pop culture sensation. However, “Call Me Maybe” isn’t the only trick Carly has in her bag. The talented pop star released her debut album, Kiss, in September of 2012. Kiss features many other hits including “This Kiss” and “Tonight I’m Getting Over You,” the latter of which she performed on Live! with Kelly & Michael.
Carly Rae Jepsen: “Tonight I’m Getting Over You” Performance
“Tonight I’m Getting Over You” is a fun dance song, like many of Carly’s other hits. Like “Call Me Maybe,” it’s the perfect jam for the upcoming summer months. Carly performed with her band wearing an adorable yellow dress and dancing along to the beat.
Carly Rae Jepsen: “Call Me Maybe” Duet With Kelly Ripa
Kelly and Michael shared their “Call Me Maybe” video parody from Live’s Halloween episode, which was very impressive to Carly. She said that Kelly did a great job playing her. In fact, it was hard to tell which video was real and which was the fake!
Carly recently won three Juno Awards and is now up for a whopping nine Billboard Awards. Pretty soon, Carly is going to need a room dedicated solely to awards. In the meantime, Carly passes her many awards along to her dad, who has dedicated a “shrine” to her success. Carly said that it looks like “Carlyville!”
Finally, Kelly asked Carly if they could sing a duet of “Call Me Maybe” together. Kelly may not have the same set of pipes, but she definitely made up for it with enthusiasm (even Michael got in on the fun). They sounded great together.
