Live With Kelly & Michael: Andre Braugher From “Last Resort”

Andre Braugher: Volunteering With The Red Cross

Emmy winning actor Andre Braugher joined Kelly & Michael to discuss his brand new series on ABC, Last Resort. But before that, he discussed how Hurricane Sandy affected him, and why he volunteered with the American Red Cross. Andre, who lives in New Jersey, considers himself fortunate to have avoided any major damage (his home lost power briefly). To help those who really need it, he manned the phones and accepted donations for the Red Cross. He said that he got many calls from Michigan and Florida, and was glad that so many people were willing to help.

Andre also shared the story of how and why he became an actor. He actually entered college as Pre-Med, because he was always very good at math and science. However, he never had a “burning desire” to become a doctor, so when he was invited to be in a play and realized that the theater was a lot more fun than the library, the choice was easy!

Andre Braugher: New Series “Last Resort”

Andre stars in the brand new ABC action series Last Resortwhich premiered earlier this fall. The show takes place mostly on a submarine, and centers around a group of patriots who are accused of being traitors. Andre called it an “outrageous” premise that makes for some very exciting television!

Last Resort shoots in Hawaii, so Andre gets to work in paradise. “We feel so sorry for you,” Kelly said sarcastically. His family spent the entire summer with him in Hawaii, but now that school has started for his kids, they are back home in New Jersey while he works.

We got to see an exciting clip of Andre in action with co-star Scott Speedman. For more of Andre Braugher, check out Last Resort on ABC, Thursday nights at 8 p.m.

About the author

After my childhood dream of achieving Olympic figure skating gold fell through, I moved on to Plan B: become a writer. I've been writing since I can remember, and consider myself lucky to be making a career out of it. I graduated from Marymount Manhattan College in 2011, and since that time, I have worked as a writer, editor and blogger. Luckily for this site, my love of TV borders on obsession.
