Lisa Kudrow: “Friends” Premiere 18 Years Ago
Lisa Kudrow is an actress and comedienne best known for her role on the popular, long-running sitcom“Friends.” The NBC ensemble comedy also starred Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer. Lisa joined Kelly and Carrie Ann on “Live With Kelly” August 13 and revealed that, unbelievably, it has been eighteen years since “Friends” first premiered.
Lisa said that there are eleven-year-old girls who come up to her all the time and tell her that they love the show; which she can’t believe, because they were not even alive! Kelly pointed out that it’s great that the show is still so relevant and popular. Plus, it’s popularity means that Lisa still gets paid every time the re-runs air!
Lisa Kudrow Vs Phoebe Buffay
Phoebe Buffay, Lisa’s character for ten years, was so funny and memorable, that people often assume that Lisa is just like her. In fact, Lisa said that she was very serious when she was young, and didn’t like to have a lot of fun. Now, however, a little bit of Phoebe has rubbed off on her. For example, she says “like” a lot more than she used to.
Lisa Kudrow: 14-Year-Old Son
Lisa has a fourteen-year-old son, so Kelly wondered if Lisa had had “the talk” yet. Lisa said that, thankfully, her husband is handling that aspect of parenting. Her husband is French, which Kelly and Carrie Ann both agreed is “the sexiest” accent. Lisa overheard her husband telling her son that, “the girl always decides,” which sounds like good advice!
Lisa Kudrow: “Web Therapy”
Lisa’s Showtime show, “Web Therapy,” is a hilarious mockumentary style comedy that has a pretty impressive celebrity fan following. Lisa has already welcomed guest stars such as Lily Tomlin and Meryl Streep. Lisa said it’s hard to choose who she wants to appear on the show next, because how do you top Meryl Streep?
Conan O’Brien will be on this week playing himself, and “Friends” co-star David Schwimmer will also soon appear. Lisa said that it was so much fun working with him, and it felt like no time had passed.
Kelly, Carrie Ann and Lisa then watched a clip from the show, in which Lisa’s character Fiona Wallice admits to some hilarious wrong-doing. You can catch Lisa and a whole host of amazing guest stars on “Web Therapy,” which airs Monday nights at 11 p.m. on Showtime.
