Krysten Ritter was Raised on a Cattle Farm
Actress Krysten Ritter came sauntering out to join Kelly and Reggie, looking completely fabulous in a pair of sparkly, high-heeled shoes. Kelly immediately said she loved them, and Krysten said that she wore them just for her.
Although Krysten is super glamorous now, Kelly revealed that she was actually raised on a cattle farm. She eventually left because she was discovered by Elite Model Management on a trip to the mall with her mom when she was fifteen. She said that it was a good thing for her, because she didn’t really know what she wanted to do with her life, even though she had one time hoped to be a pediatric cardiologist (despite not really knowing what that meant.)
Krysten Ritter: Model Apartment
Like yesterday’s guest Christina Hendricks, Krysten also lived in model apartments after first coming to New York. Krysten joked that it seemed as if Reggie knew a lot about that, but he said, “It was on the cue cards, they told me to say that!” Kelly said that there must have been “a lot of hairspray and acne medication” with so many young girls in one small space.
While she said it was not very glamorous behind closed doors, because there were a lot of teenage girls all packed into bunk beds, it was still fun, and very similar to college. They would all scrounge together money to go out and buy McDonald’s Happy Meals, and Krysten said that her life was pretty much “beautiful girls in boxer shorts hanging around watching ‘MTV Jams.'”
Kelly asked if any of her former roommates also became famous. Krysten hesitated, but then said no, because she transitioned pretty quickly into acting. She was a “rebellious” model, and wanted to be a “rock star.”
Krysten Ritter: “Don’t Trust the B– in Apartment 23” Review
Krysten currently stars on the ABC sitcom “Don’t Trust the B– in Apartment 23,” which also features Dreama Walker as her roommate, June, and James Van Der Beek, playing an exaggerated and arrogant version of himself. Krysten plays “the B–“, a crazy party girl named Chloe who hangs around celebrities and often takes advantage of her naive, midwestern roommate. On playing such a seedy character, Krysten said, “I love it!”
Kelly, Reggie and Krysten watched a clip from next week’s episode of the show, which airs on ABC Wednesday nights at 9:30. In the clip, Chloe and June are drinking sake and eating sushi at a Japanese restaurant when people keep coming up to her. She eventually discovers that she was the inspiration behind a popular graphic novel in Japan, but could really care less– her life is just that fabulous!
Krysten explained that the premise of the episode revolves around the fact that June just cannot party as hard as Chloe; June, having just come out of the hospital with messed-up hair and make-up, was proof. Kelly ended the segment by declaring, “Where has Krysten Ritter been all my life?”
