Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas Dance the Jive

British Opera Singer Katherine Jenkins and her partner, pro dancer Mark Ballas, were the runners-up on this season of Dancing with the Stars. Despite receiving perfect scores from the judges during the finale, they lost out on the Mirror Ball Trophy to Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd. On the Live With Kelly stage they danced a fun, retro jive number to Bobby Darin’s “Splish Splash.”

After they finished their dance, Katherine and Mark chatted with Seth and Kelly. Seth told them, “You look like winners to me!”

Kelly pointed out that Mark, who has won the show twice before, had been performing with an injured hip. Somehow he was still able to dance for the show.

Mark said that as they went into the finale, he knew that he and Katherine had a good shot at winning. But the finalists were all very strong, and he was happy that they danced the very best that they could.

Kelly remarked that, when dancers are very good, they make dancing look easy. This made Kelly and Seth both think, ‘we can do that!’ when, of course, they can’t.

Katherine Jenkins: Golden Jubilee

Despite achieving fame in the UK, she was not well-known in America before appearing on Dancing with the Stars. She said that she had a great experience being here and that everyone has been very welcoming.

Next up, Katherine will return to the UK and sing for the Queen at Her Majesty’s Golden Jubilee. Seth joked, “then you and the Queen are going to do that dance together?” Kelly assured Katherine she has now swept America and that everyone here loves her.
