Jon Cryer: “Live” Disney World Mishap
Actor Jon Cryer, a former child star, has starred for nine seasons on the popular CBS sitcom “Two and a Half Men.” Kelly presented Jon with a lei, welcoming him to the show as the first guest at Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii. Jon actually has a history of traveling with “Live;” he last joined the show at Disney World with both Kelly and Regis.
However, Jon’s time at Disney World wasn’t without a few mishaps. Biggest of all was his dive into the three-foot-deep kiddie pool, which resulted in his two front teeth being knocked out. He was in a lot of pain, but all the kids at the pool found it pretty funny. Luckily, he said that good dentists are easy to find in Florida.
Jon Cryer: First Visit to Oahu
It was not Jon’s first visit to Hawaii, but it was his first visit to Oahu, where Aulani is located. The last time Jon visited Hawaii he was on the island of Kona, which was hosting the Iron Man Triathlon. He said that it was pretty intimidating being on an island filled with nothing but extraordinary athletes; he guessed that there must be about fourteen pounds of body fat in the entire state, total. Maybe it’s all that time spent on the beach!
Jon Cryer: “Two and a Half Men” with Ashton Kutcher
When controversial actor Charlie Sheen was fired from “Two and a Half Men” and replaced with Ashton Kutcher, many wondered about the future of the hit show. However, the “re-booted” show, as Kelly called it, is better than ever. Kelly, Daniel, and Jon watched a clip from the show between Jon and Ashton.
Jon Cryer: Angus T. Jones Co-Star
Jon stars on the show with teen actor Angus T. Jones, who plays his son. Angus started as an adorable young boy, but has now grown into a bit of a heartthrob. Jon lamented that there are now two heartthrobs– Angus and Ashton– who are overshadowing him on camera!
Speaking of child actors, Daniel said that Jon must be a great role model for Angus because of his film career when he was a teen. One of Jon’s most famous roles was as nerdy teen Duckie alongside Molly Ringwald in Pretty in Pink. The John Hughes film is 1980s classic.
Angus will now be attending college, and Jon admitted that he’s not sure how (and where) they are going to film the show from now on. However, he had a great suggestion– what about Hawaii?
Catch the new season of “Two and a Half Men” when it premieres in the fall of 2012 on CBS.
