John Travolta: Son with Kelly Preston, Benjamin
Legendary film actor John Travolta danced out to meet with Kelly and Michael to Chuck Berry’s “You Can Never Tell (C’est La Vie)”. He and Kelly did the twist– just like John and Uma Thurman did to the song in their infamous dance scene from Pulp Fiction. Kelly told him, “I dance with you on behalf of all women.” The crowd was going crazy for John!
First off, Kelly congratulated John on the birth of his son, Benjamin, who is now a toddler. John and wife Kelly Preston welcomed Benjamin to the family after the tragic death of their teenage son, Jett, in 2009. The couple also have a daughter, Ella. John said that Benjamin is “talking up a storm.” He brought video of Benjamin saying, “I don’t know!,” a favorite phrase amongst babies! John said that Ella is a great big sister. It seems like Benjamin is the perfect addition to the Travolta family.
John Travolta: Hidden Talent
Apparently, baking is a hidden talent of John’s; he said that while he can’t make much else, he does make amazing peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. Kelly invited him to make the cookies and bring them on the show, and John said that he would love to. He can’t cook anything else, but as Michael said, dessert is everyone’s favorite anyway!
John Travolta: Weight Loss Secret
Kelly pointed out that John looked great, and he said that he had lost some weight. John was able to drop the pounds by playing tennis everyday and doing a bit of weight lifting.
John had some great tips on how to lose weight and keep it off: do it slowly. John explained that depriving yourself by extreme dieting will only lead to yo-yoing. It’s far better to start exercising and then gradually get healthier, little by little. It seems to have worked for him!
John Travolta: Oliver Stone’s “Savages”
John’s newest film is called Savages, an action-crime thriller directed by Oliver Stone. The film is based on the book of the same name by Don Winslow. In the film, John plays a corrupt DEA agent that gets mixed up in the kidnapping of a drug dealer’s girlfriend. The film also stars Taylor Kitsch, Aaron Johnson, Benicio del Toro, Salma Hayek, and Blake Lively.
John explained that the premise of the film is: how far would you go for love? The film centers around a love triangle that makes each character turn into a savage. John said that Savages was the first role he took after the death of his son in 2009. He had been wanting to work with Oliver Stone for years, and it was an amazing script.
Kelly, Michael, and John watched a clip from the film of John’s character with Taylor Kitsch and Aaron Johnson, who play two marijuana growers. Be sure to see John and the rest of the amazing cast when Savages opens in theaters this Friday, July 6.
