Emilia Clarke: Natural Brunette

Young British actress Emilia Clarke has skyrocketed to superstardom thanks to her role as Khaleesi, “the mother of dragons,” on the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones. When Emilia made her Live! with Kelly & Michael debut, she was missing her signature platinum blonde hair. Emilia, a natural brunette, explained that she wears a wig on Game of Thrones.

Emilia is now living in New York City, which she’s quickly grown accustomed to. At first, she explained that she was “very British” (aka, cautious) about things like crossing the street. Now, she’s an old pro and has no issues with slamming her hand onto the hood of a cab. Just like a real New Yorker!

Emilia Clarke: Bartender

Like most actors, Emilia worked many odd jobs before hitting it big. She worked in a bar, a restaurant and as a caterer, although she wasn’t a very good bartender. She did, however, develop a specialty: Amaretto Sour. Kelly was ready for a sample right then and there.

Emilia Clarke: Breakfast At Tiffany’s On Broadway

Emilia has taken on the iconic role of Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s on Broadway. Emilia keeps screen legend Audrey Hepburn as an inspiration, but she isn’t trying to replicate her beloved performance in the film version. Emilia called Audrey Hepburn “a force to be reckoned with.”

Much has been written about the nude scene in the play, but Kelly gave Emilia some great advice: “be as nude as you can now,” while she’s still young!

Emilia Clarke: Game Of Thrones Season Three

Game of Thrones is currently in its third season on HBO. As “the mother of dragons,” Emilia shoots scenes with baby dragons that (obviously) aren’t really there. Instead, she shoots with tennis balls. But while the dragons aren’t real, the many exotic filming locations are; Emilia has traveled to places like Croatia and Morocco for the show.

Emilia referred to Game of Thrones as “the role of a lifetime.” She admires her character, Daenerys Targaryen, because she’s evolved from a naive young girl to a Khaleesi, a Dothraki princess and unstoppable leader. Currently, Khaleesi is assembling an army in order to take back the Iron Throne.

See Emilia Clarke in Game of Thrones, which airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. on HBO. If you aren’t already watching it, it isn’t too late to start!
