Kelly and Michael: Stephen Amell
From The CW series Arrow, Stephen Amell plays Oliver McQueen, a “billionaire playboy” by day and crime fighter by night. Stephen told the co-hosts about his CW series Arrow and breaking into the acting world. Then the co-hosts challenged him to an archery contest.
Stephen Amell Green Socks
For the interview, Stephen wore a sharp suit, bright green socks and gave Kelly a big embrace after their Twitter exchange about hugs.
Stephen Amell said he was a Patriots fan, so he was less excited to hug Michael Strahan. He said that he was not prepared for a Patriots loss, after the season they had. Stephen hails from Toronto, and he originally sold insurance in Toronto.
Kelly & Michael: Stephen Amell Acting
After five years of acting in Canada, he moved to Los Angeles in 2010 and things have been working out for him. Stephen set a goal for himself that he wanted to work 100 days in 2011, which can be a challenge for an unemployed actor. He almost got there, working 93 days that year.
Now he is employed full time and works every day, but no one works as much as Michael Strahan. Stephen speculated that Michael was “gaining days” with all his cross country commuting.
Kelly and Michael: Stephen Amell Arrow Review
Arrow is based on a graphic novel. His character is a billionaire who was shipwrecked for years and presumed dead. He returned as a crime-fighting vigilante butting heads against his own family. His weapon of choice is a bow and arrow.
In a clip from Arrow, Oliver’s bodyguard tries to talk him out of pursuing the villain Count Vertigo. But Oliver wants to prevent a drug epidemic from overtaking the city. Arrow airs Wednesdays on The CW.
Kelly & Michael: Stephen Amell Archery
With all that shooting on the set of Arrow, Stephen Amell must be a pretty good shot. The co-hosts challenged him to an archery competition. Always the lady, Kelly Ripa went first and was a pretty good shot!
Michael Strahan made the outer reaches of the target. Stephen went last, and I think he didn’t do as well as Kelly. Kelly graciously named Stephen the winner.
