Kelly & Michael: Brad Garrett “How To Live With Your Parents”

Brad Garrett: Las Vegas Comedy Club

The hilarious Brad Garrett arrived at Live! with Kelly & Michael with his best jokes in tow. First, he took a stab at guest co-host Mark Feuerstein’s height. Not that Mark is short, exactly, but even Michael Strahan would look miniscule in comparison; Brad is 6’8” tall!

Fittingly, Brad discussed his new comedy club in Las Vegas. The club, which Brad helped develop from the ground up, opened last year at the MGM Grand. After years of performing at “dives” as a stand-up comedian, he knew what he liked and what he didn’t like. Brad’s club has an “old school Las Vegas vibe,” so definitely check it out if you find yourself in Sin City.

Brad Garrett: The Roast Of Kelly & Michael

Kelly and Mark tried to get more questions in, but all attempts were futile. Instead, Brad went into full stand-up mode, and the only person he didn’t insult was Kelly. Of Mark Feuerstein, he said, “it’s kind of like Regis and Screech had a child.” Of Gelman’s Julius Caesar haircut, he said, “it looks like his head fell off a coin.” According to Brad, poor Art Moore “doesn’t even know where he is.” Mark hit the nail on the head when he described the interview as “The Roast of Kelly & Michael.”

Brad Garrett: How To Live With Your Parents (For the Rest Of Your Life)

Finally, Brad got down to business and discussed his new sitcom How To Live With Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life). The ABC series is based on the real life of its creator, Claudia Lonow, who lived with her parents while raising her young daughter. In fact, she still lives with her parents to this day.

Brad portrays the lead character’s stepfather, who is based on Claudia’s real-life stepdad. He is one of the owners of the improv comedy club where Brad first got his start. Plus, Brad’s wife is played by Elizabeth Perkins, whom he’s had a crush on since Big. It’s all come full circle!

See Brad Garrett along with Elizabeth Perkins and Sarah Chalke in How To Live With Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life), airing Wednesday nights on ABC.
