Kelly and Michael: Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2014
After celebrating with Kelly Ripa and the audience, Michael Strahan attended a meeting with his six colleagues who will be inducted along with him to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in summer 2014.
- Derrick Brooks
- Ray Guy, the hall’s first punter
- Claude Humphrey
- Walter Jones
- Andre Reed
- Michael Strahan
- Aeneas Williams
The men will all have to be measured for their new busts, and Michael mentioned that he is going to have an even bigger ring. “It looks like you’ve got a stadium on your hand,” he said. The gang also needed to be measured for their yellow jackets.
Michael said he was self-conscious about having his head measured, and that he had to stand in many different poses to get the shots that will be used to sculpt his bust.
Kelly said she had a plaster mold of her face made when she hosted Saturday Night Live, and also for her double at Madame Tussaud’s wax museum. Michael said he will be the second Hall of Famer, after Deion Sanders, to be smiling in the Hall of Fame.
Kelly Ripa 3D Printer & Talking Cars Safety
Michael Gelman brought out a bust of Kelly Ripa that was generated by a 3D printer, and in a side-by-side comparison, she did not think it looked liked her. She compared it to the 1970s version of Carrie and dismissed technology’s assessment of her beauty.
In other tech revolutions, cars are going to be equipped with technology that will help vehicles warn other cars about potential dangers and make the roads more safe. Kelly said it would truly be revolutionary if cars could warn others about drivers’ road rage.
The hosts agreed that this could be life-saving, especially in weather conditions such as fog or heavy snow.
Kelly & Michael: RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman
The hosts also observed the passing of Philip Seymour Hoffman, who died of an apparent drug overdose. They called him a brilliant talent, and New York City will dim the lights on Broadway in tribute to the Oscar winner.
Wheely Wild Winter Travel Trivia: Josh Groban
Nanci Steber from Green Bay, Wisconsin, played trivia for a vacation to The Verandah Resort & Spa in Antigua.
What city did we say Josh Groban is from?
Nanci knew the answer was Los Angeles, so she has a Caribbean vacation to look forward to. Someone in the audience also won a $500 Bed Bath & Beyond gift certificate.
