The hosts got geared up for the show by listening to music backstage. Michael Strahan said he would love to be a guest DJ, and Kelly Ripa seemed to agree with his musical tastes. He is a man of many talents.

In New York City, a pregnant woman couldn’t make it to the hospital in time, so she ended up delivering her baby in a crosswalk with the help of strangers.

Michael did his British accent on the show this week, which Kelly Ripa called a hate crime. In response, Michael has downloaded an app to teach him how to do a proper British accent, which he swears will work.

I guess we will have to stay tuned and see if he can accomplish this goal. “It’s like if the Lucky Charms guy went to Jamaica and then moved to South Carolina,” Kelly said of Michael’s indiscriminate accents.

We’ll have to stay tuned and see whether Michael’s practice improves his vocal abilities. For someone who grew up in Germany and Texas, you’d think he’d have a better grasp of accents.

Kelly & Michael: Woman Delivers Baby in Crosswalk

A woman went into the labor without making it to the hospital. She was on the Upper East Side, where she delivered a baby basically in the street. Kelly said the woman looked like Angelina Jolie, and Ripa could not believe that she gave birth in the crosswalk.

Her doorman helped to deliver her baby when his attempts to hail her a taxi failed. Several people, including a doctor, intervened to help the woman. The baby was named Ila Isabel, after a mysterious good samaritan who left her coat behind after stopping by to help.

Kelly Ripa said she is fascinated with these crazy birth stories that take place in unexpected places. “I just can’t imagine the terror,” she said. “What is this lady made of that I’m not made of?”

Michael couldn’t stop thinking of the doorman who was caught in the middle of this situation. That definitely makes your relationship more personal than it was before.
