Late Show: Alec Baldwin Makes Shia LaBeouf Quit Play
Alec Baldwin probably isn’t the easiest person to work with and Shia LeBeouf knows firsthand after he quit working on the Broadway play Orphans, citing numerous disagreements with his co-star Baldwin. Producers said LaBeouf quit the play because of creative differences after just one week of rehearsals but some tweets posted by LaBeouf seem to point the finger at a hot-headed Alec Baldwin. In one tweet he posted an email from director Dan Sullivan which read “I’m too old for disagreeable situations. You’re one hell of a great actor. Alec is who he is. You are who you are. You two are incompatible. I should have known it. This one will haunt me. You tried to warn me. You said you were a different breed. I didn’t get it.”
Although Alec Baldwin also tweeted a few things towards LaBeouf, nothing offensive has been said between the two since LaBeouf quit the play, although it might be safe to say Baldwin probably wasn’t too happy about LaBeouf tweeting his private emails to the world.
So will they still be talking about the play on the Late Show with David Letterman? With the exit of LaBeouf, it would seem the play may not be able to open early next month as was planned, even with Ben Foster taking the star’s place in the play. Either way, it should still be an interesting story to follow. Orphans is a play about two orphaned brothers living in a decrepit home until the older brother kidnaps Baldwin’s character and brings him back to the house where he becomes a father figure to the boys.
Late Show: Alec Baldwin Racial Slurs
Shia LaBeouf isn’t the only person who has felt the wrath of Alec Baldwin as of recently. The 30 Rock actor has been accused of yelling racial slurs at New York Post photographer G.N. Miller, although Baldwin firmly denies saying such things to the photographer.
Apparently, according to Miller, he and reporter Tara Palmeri encountered Baldwin outside his home where they approached him to ask him a few questions. Both of the New York Post employees said they were told by Baldwin that he was going to “choke them to death” and he called Miller, an African American, a “crackhead” and a “drug dealer.”
With the publicity coming from the reports, the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is looking into the matter.
