What is new in the life of the self-involved enduring parody Stephen Colbert. His sister, Elizabeth Colbert, is running for Congress in South Carolina’s first district. He said it is a weird collision of worlds, especially since Colbert has been a former presidential candidate.

“It’s natural for her to run because she has skills and something to offer society. I am professionally ridiculous,” he said.

To support his sister, Colbert hosted a bowling alley fundraiser. “We’re of the people,” he said, adding that he is great at bowling as long as the bumpers are up on his lane. Plus, “I love wearing other people’s shoes.”

Stephen also praised bowling as one of few sports with easy access to a bar. You don’t get that when you are playing

Late Night: The Colbert Report Review

“I think you’re doing something no comedian’s ever done on television,” Fallon said of his guest’s work on The Colbert Report. It is impressive that he is so committed to the role.

On the subject of his sister, Colbert praised her for being his closest in their family of 11 siblings. He added that she raised three children on her own and put herself through college. Now she is a Senate candidate, which is a lot to accomplish.

Jimmy Fallon: Colbert Super PAC

Last year, Stephen Colbert created his own Super PAC, “to see whether I could,” because he met opposition from his bosses at Comedy Central, who were concerned about legal issues. The money from the PAC was dispersed to Hurricane Sandy victims, Habitat for Humanity and charitable causes.

Both hosts have their own flavors of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. Stephen’s is called Ameri-Cone Dream and Jimmy’s is Late Night Snack.

Jimmy Fallon: Blow Your Pants Off Grammy Award

Jimmy Fallon is also proud to be a Grammy Award winner, for the Blow Your Pants Off album, on which Colbert is featured, so of course Stephen took partial credit for the win. But he was snubbed when Fallon thanked the contributors on his show.

But Colbert is a previous Grammy winner himself, so he could seek consolation in his award. To make up, the pair traded gifts: invitations to each other’s Oscar parties.

They wrapped things up with a duet of “Ivory and Ivory,” changing the lyrics of “Ebony and Ivory” and filling it with details about their status as frenemies.
