In the 1970s Clive Davis had a monumental decade but he almost past up one of the best live performers of our time, Bruce Springsteen. Clive saw Bruce Springsteen play one night early in the 1970s and he said he was underwhelmed by Spingsteen’s stage presence. Springsteen was a sort of folk singer at that time, said Clive, and he would hardly move around the stage. So Clive gave him a little advice about using the entire stage. Springsteen listened and he is now said to be one of the best live performers in the world.

Katie Couric: Clive Davis Bisexual

The 1980s was a time in Clive Davis’ life when he was struggling not with his career, but with his personal life. He had recently been divorced and he decided to turn to bisexuality. He said neither of his marriages were affected by his bisexuality but he said after two failed marriages he wanted to open himself up to having a relationship with a man.

Not many people knew until his memoir, The Soundtrack of My Life, came out where he talks in detail about being bisexual. But it wasn’t like he didn’t tell anyone. Clive said he told everyone close to him. He told his family and his friends but he didn’t hold up a sign to the world telling them what his identity is. He said it was personal and he wanted to wait.

As of right now, Clive said he is in a relationship with a man and if it ever ended he knows he could meet a woman just as easily as a man. He told Katie he loves the person, not their gender. He also told her he hoped his coming out would lead to greater understanding of bisexuality.
