GMA: Movie Parodies With Green Screen Magic
In honor of the Oscars, which air at 8 p.m. February 24 2013, the GMA anchors put their spin on the Hollywood movies of the year. They showed a clip where Lara Spencer, Sam Champion and Josh Elliott parodied some of the most famous scene in movies this year, thanks to green screen magic.
First up was Josh Elliott as Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit, who did his best to correct Gollum’s grammar. Then, Josh Elliott and Sam Champion did the scene from Skyfall where Moneypenny is trying to get a clean shot at James Bond’s attacker, while James Bond, played by Sam Champion, and his attacker, played by Josh Elliott, stand on top of a moving train. Moneypenny hits the wrong man and Sam Champion’s James Bond goes flying off the train, checking his watch as he falls into a canyon.
Then Lara Spencer as Cosette in Les Miserables asked Marius why he was singing. Marius sang, “I’m doing everything all wrong.” Lara Spencer’s Cosette responded, “You’re not doing everything all wrong. But the singing is a lot.” Then Cosette tried a couple different ways of singing her name and then told him to get lost, because the singing was too much for her.
Sam Champion reprised the role of the tiger in Life of Pi, and all three of the anchors showed up again in a scene from Les Miserables where the revolution breaks out. The scene ended with a credit that said Robin Roberts directed.
