Robin Roberts returned to Good Morning America February 20 2013 after a medical leave where she received a bone marrow transplant. Sam Champion assured her that they didn’t plan anything big for her, while the camera showed a plane flying a banner by the Statue of Liberty that read, “Welcome back Robin! Light, love, power, presence.”
Mandisa and the Power of Praise Mass Choir came into the studio to sing a song for Robin, walking in from the street. They sang a song about Robin Roberts’ return.
GMA: Massive Explosion At Kansas City Mall
A massive gas explosion flattened a popular restaurant at a Kansas City mall. One person remains unaccounted for. Three were critically injured, with more than a dozen hurt. It appears contractors might have hit a gas line.
GMA: Oscar Pistorius Bail Hearing
Police called Olympic star Oscar Pistorius a flight risk in a bail hearing February 20 2013, saying he has a house in Italy. The defense denied that, saying there was no house in Italy. There was also a key witness who said she had heard Oscar Pistorius and his girlfriend arguing that was revealed to be the equivalent of over six football fields away.
The South African was the first double amputee in the Olympics and stands accused of killing his girlfriend.
GMA: Patricia Cornwell Lawsuit Victory
Mystery author Patricia Cornwell has won $50 million after suing her money management firm. She argued that they were so negligent that at one point she was only worth $13 million, despite making eight figures for years. The money management firm blamed her Ferraris and her $40,000 a week apartment.
