Ramsey said that she knows the Great Whites are dangerous wild animals. She thinks that calling them mindless man-eating machines may be going too far.

California has named the Great White an endangered species. There is said to only be 339 Great White sharks left on the Pacific coast. That’s why Ramsey wants to give the world a reason to understand these creatures. She believes they are actually calm creatures and proves this by swimming alongside of them and touching them. She does not wear any protective gear other than a wet suit.

Ramsey and Juan Oliphant dive with the Great Whites and take photos and video that they share on Facebook and Water Inspired. They hope to raise awareness about the endangered species and help to drop the stigma that surrounds them. Underwater, Ramsey has no problem holding onto a Great White’s fin and riding alongside like it’s a dolphin. Water Inspired has resources where you can learn more about the importance of sharks and why they are needed in the ocean’s ecosystem.

GMA: Play Of the Day

This trick shot was part of a month long competition at the PGA golf management program at Campbell University. Good Morning America lined up five balls to recreate the shot. We’ll call their attempt the “Fail of the Day.”
