GMA: Man Proposes To Girlfriend On Good Morning America
On Good Morning America February 14 2013, a man proposed to his girlfriend live on the air. GMA invited a couple, Brian and Melissa, to the show. Melissa thought that they were there to tell the story of their relationship for Valentine’s Day, but Brian was planning to propose. The couple met on match.com. When Brian messaged her, he invited her to go scuba diving, because he’s a scuba diving instructor. She responded with two words: “I’m certified,” followed by a smiley face emoticon.
Brian was planning to go to Fuji a few weeks after he met Melissa and invited her to come along. She went and today, they’re very happy together. Melissa didn’t know that her family and friends were waiting in a tent for her answer, because not only was Brian proposing, Good Morning America had already made several preparations for them to get married on the show, just 20 minutes after the proposal.
Brian got down on one knee and Melissa said yes. “We have a yes!” Josh Elliot shouted to the crowd, who cheered. When Brian told Melissa about the catch, that she had to marry him right away, she said, “Right now?” and seemed very baffled, before finally saying, “Okay.” Then, Melissa’s family and friends came out and she couldn’t believe it.
GMA: Melissa Chooses a Wedding Dress
Lara Spencer explained to Melissa that she was going to need something to wear for her wedding, so they’d looked at her Pinterest account and found her ideas for wedding dresses. Terry Hall, from Kleinfeld Bridal, explained the four wedding dresses he’d brought for her to choose from. Lara Spencer invited Melissa’s maid of honor into the studio to help her pick out the perfect dress.
The first look was what Terry Hall referred to as “Sexy Sophisticated.” It was made of silk satin, with a corset back and lace on the bottom. It also had a cathedral veil. Lara Spencer said she’d heard Melissa was a shoe girl, so they had shoe choices with each dress.
The next dress was a more high-end dress that Lara Spencer called “va-va-voom.” Then, there was a wedding dress that was cocktail dress length. Terry Hall said the dress was more flirty and something he thought was fun. The last had a fingertip veil which was sprinkled with crystals. Terry Hall called it the “Princess Bride.” Melissa seemed very overwhelmed and Lara Spencer assured her there was no pressure. Although, there kind of was pressure, because she was getting married in the next 20 minutes.
