GMA Entertainment Weekly Announce Entertainer of the Year, Ben Affleck

Good Morning America: 2012 Entertainer of the Year Ben Affleck

Entertainment Weekly recently announced the 2012 Entertainer of the Year. Can you guess who they picked out? Channing Tatum maybe. He is the Sexiest Man Alive in 2012 according to People magazine. Or maybe Tom Hanks? He was in a few movies this year, including Cloud Atlas. And he did swear live on Good Morning America. That has to count for something. My money was on Denzel Washington. Have you seen Flight? It was phenomenal.

But all those guesses would be wrong.

The 2012 Entertainer of the Year is Ben Affleck. And he looks quite handsome on the cover of the new magazine. Entertainment Weekly cited his triple threat during awards season, having the chance to win an award for best movie, Argo, best actor and best director. He has reached the pinnacle of his career and will be accepting directorial awards along with the likes of Steven Spielberg.

GMA: Ben Affleck and George Clooney

George Clooney, who wrote the cover story about Ben Affleck, said Affleck was unable to be kept down, either by failure or even success. He knows how to gets things done and he does them.

Entertainment Weekly also cited his ability to take a movie about the Iran hostage crisis and turn it into a blockbuster success, grossing around $100 million. He made a quality movie that was entertaining, funny and socially conscious, and turned it into a commercial and critical success.

And for everyone wondering, Good Morning America also made the list of entertainers for their banner year with high ratings and a very enjoyable cast, according to Entertainment Weekly. I mean who doesn’t love Josh Elliott and Sam Champion’s bromance?

About the author

After graduating from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Journalism and Anthropology, I managed a pizza place for a year, while freelancing for various newspapers in the area. Working every weekend in sauna like conditions, never being able to take a day off and being covered in flour is something I will not miss. I hope Recapo has air conditioning.
