Good Morning America: Sasha and Malia Obama
Good Morning America discussed what it will be like for President Barack Obama’s daughters, Sasha and Malia Obama, to have four more years in the White House.
The girls are now 11 (Sasha) and 14 (Malia), and will spend the majority of their teenage years in the White House. The President informed the girls last night that for putting up with the campaign, they would be receiving another puppy to come live in Washington, D.C. with them.

First Lady Michelle said that she worried about what this life would be like for them, and wondered if they would be able to instill the same values that she and the President learned growing up.
Rachel Smolkin, the White House editor for Politico, said the Obamas are very careful about what footage is shown of the girls. She said they’re doing their best to shelter and protect them.

Michelle Obama said that it’s always a balance, and they try to give them a regular life with sleepovers and friends. When President Obama’s second term is over, they will be 15 and 18, and Malia will be filling out college applications.
The girls will have milestones like homecomings, proms, first dates and learning how to drive in the White House. President Obama said that while there has been no interest in dating from the girls yet, he will have men with guns ready when the time comes.
