Good Morning America: Amy Adams Trouble with the Curve

Hollywood superstar Amy Adams sat down with Good Morning America’s George Stephanopoulos to discuss her new film, Trouble with the Curve, which also stars Clint Eastwood.

Eastwood said that Adams can “sprint like a guy, throw like a guy, and take a real swing.” Stephanopoulos was curious about where she learned to play baseball.

“I actually had to get a coach, a private baseball coach because before I started this film ,I could not do any of those,” Adams said. “I could run, I was a good runner.”

Adams plays the daughter of Eastwood, who is a baseball scout. Adams’ task as an actress was to look like she grew up around the sport and was comfortable with it.

Adams said that working with Eastwood was a dream come true.

“It’s amazing, I grew up watching Clint, had a huge crush on him of course, but he’s just such a warm individual and he has such a great sense of humanity and of humor and really made it easy to not be intimidated,” Adams said.

Justin Timberlake also stars in the film, and got to try out “clogging,” a mountain dance. Adams said she’d like to learn how to clog because the professionals on the set looked like they were having fun.

Stephanopoulos asked Adams if her daughter Aviana knows her mom is a big movie star.

“I don’t know, she saw me do Shakespeare in the Park this summer so I think every time now I say I’m going to work she thinks I’m doing Shakespeare in the Park, which she really liked that,” Adams said. “That was a lot of fun for us.”

Adams said she is also on an “internet diet.” She allows herself to check her email and a few new stories, but said she was spending too much time online and wanted more quality time with her family.

“It feels good,” Adams said. “Sometimes it’s very anxiety inducing, I feel like I really was addicted, you feel like you need to know things and if you’re not on that you’re missing something.”

Adams is also starring in The Master, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, which is receiving lots of buzz.

“It is magnificent,” Adams said. “Paul Thomas Anderson directed this film, Joaquin Phoenix gives a startling performance. I’m just really proud to be in this film it’s one of those that I’ll remember for a long time.”

Trouble with the Curve opens on September 21 2012.
