Good Morning America: Karina Smirnoff Dancing With Injuries

In the semifinals of Dancing With the Stars, professional dancer Karina Smirnoff almost did not make it to the ballroom due to injuring herself during rehearsals with her partner, NFL player Jacoby Jones. Karina was sent to the hospital for neck and jaw issues after a move in their routine went south during their rehearsal. The doctors told her that everything would straighten out after the swelling went down. The pair changed their routine for safety after Karina’s fall by slightly changing the flip move that they had been practicing.

Professional dancer Mark Ballas performed an African dance piece with his partner, Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman, while nursing lower back pain. Mark said that there is no damage to his bones or nerves, so he just needs some rest to take care of that back pain.

Professional dancer Val Chemerkovskiy said that he is just trying to keep up with his partner, actress Zendaya. He said that he has asked her to slow down a bit so he can keep up with her fast-paced personality.

Good Morning America: Dancing With The Stars Favorites For Finals

Karina and Jacoby, Mark and Aly, and Val and Zendaya are all favorites to go to this season’s final round of Dancing With The Stars, along with Derek Hough and his partner Kellie Pickler. Derek and Kellie scored a perfect score of three 10s with their performance.

Before their time on stage, Kellie told Derek that he “better not mess up!” That might mean bad news for the partnership of General Hospital‘s Ingo Rademacher and partner Kym Johnson, as only four couples will make it to the final round.
