GMA: Jennifer Lawrence Dior Photoshop
Larry Hackett, managing editor for People magazine, came by Good Morning America March 1 2013 to talk about some of the hottest pop culture gossip. First up was Jennifer Lawrence, the current It Girl, who is the face of Dior. When she saw her photos, she was very frank in admitting they were photoshopped. Larry Hackett said he wasn’t sure why someone thought she should be photoshopped.
Robin Roberts pointed out that some people don’t want to admit they’re photoshopped. Larry Hackett said Jennifer Lawrence’s openness is part of her charm. He also said he thought what happened was that they signed Jennifer Lawrence up before she was famous and everywhere. He said that now everyone knows what she looks like and it’s immediately apparent that she was photoshopped in the pictures.
GMA: Anne Hathaway Oscar Dress Backlash
Actress Anne Hathaway is facing backlash now over her last minute decision to change from a Valentino dress to a Prada dress at the Oscars. Larry Hackett said there’s also backlash because a lot of people see her as overly dramatic. He pointed out that after two months of acceptance speeches and saying thank you so much, after a while people get sick of it. Robin Roberts questioned if Anne Hathaway really needed to apologize for the dress decision, and Sam Champion said that she’s a nice girl and people should calm down.
GMA: Dancing With the Stars Favorite
The anchors of GMA asked Larry Hackett which cast member of the newly announced Dancing with the Stars cast was going to be a breakaway star. He said that he thought Dorothy Hamill, since she’s good on her feet.
GMA: Giuliana & Bill Put Relationship First
Giuliana Rancic, host of E! News, and Bill Rancic, the first winner of The Apprentice, are starring in their own reality series, Giuliana & Bill, about their decision to use a surrogate to have a baby. Giuliana is at the center of controversy after telling US Weekly that the secret to her happy marriage is putting the relationship first and the baby second. “The best thing we can do for him is have a strong marriage. I always say to Bill, ‘You were my first baby,’ because he was. He was my first love and my first baby.”
Some mom bloggers have gotten very upset about this, saying children should always come first. But Giuliana and Bill said they split the parenting, but still have time for date nights. They say the policy makes them stronger. Sam Champion added at the end that people should let other people run their homes the way they want to run them.
