GMA: Debbie Reynolds New Book Unsinkable

Debbie Reynolds is a Hollywood legend. She’s starred in movies like Singin’ in the Rain and The Unsinkable Molly Brown. Now, she’s written a memoir called Unsinkable. She said that she had to get up at 3 a.m. to be on Good Morning America April 2 2013, and so she went to bed at 2 a.m. She said that it had been about 20 to 30 years since the last memoir and she said that since she lived that long, she thought she’d write about it.

“It’s so shocking,” she said. “I can’t believe it, that I’m still alive. I am still alive, right? I don’t know. It’s a little early.”

GMA: Debbie Reynolds Behind the Candelabra

Debbie Reynolds is also starring in a new Liberace biopic called Behind The Candelabra. She said that Librace was a good friend of hers and she plays his mother, who she knew in real life. She said that Librace’s mother was Polish and so she got to try out the accent.

GMA: Debbie Reynolds Getting Older

Lara Spencer asked Debbie Reynolds if she ever saw herself slowing down since she just celebrated her 81st birthday. Reynolds said if anything, she saw herself going backward. She talked about losing control of her body and things at her home looking different or having moved.

GMA: Debbie Reynolds vs. Elizabeth Taylor

Lara Spencer said she wanted to ask Debbie Reynolds about the things she was candid about in the new book.

“You little devil! What is it you want to hear?” Debbie Reynolds asked.

Lara Spencer asked her about Elizabeth Taylor, who Debbie Reynolds fought with earlier in her life. Reynolds said that life goes on and that they learned to get past it.

GMA: Debbie Reynolds Selling Memorabilia

“I’m on that thing now,” Debbie Reynolds said. Lara Spencer sounded confused and said, “That thing? The internet?”

“I cannot work it because my mouse keeps running away,” Reynolds said.

She said that all of her memorabilia is for sale on the internet and that she thinks the internet’s effect on the world is very interesting.
