GMA: New Technologies Help Amputees
In the wake of all the wounded at the Boston Marathon bombings, Good Morning America reported April 17 2013 on the progress we’ve made in prosthetic technologies. Now, we have bionic technology to help amputees. A decade ago, we didn’t have much of an ability to return functionality for a lost limb. But now, rehabilitation and quality of life is better than ever. GMA did note that prosthetics can be expensive, from $5,000 up to $50,000 for the most expensive kind. But GMA suggested that maybe the citizens of Boston will rally to help the victims of the city get the prosthetic limbs they need.
GMA: One Mom Says Children Shouldn’t Share
In one of the worst and oddest transitions in history, the next story was about a mother who doesn’t believe in teaching her children to share. Some preschools are now avoiding teaching children to share, saying that sharing gives the recipient a sense of entitlement. A lot of these preschools keep copies of the same exact toy on hand to avoid dispute.
Now, a mommy blogger named Beth Wankel is blogging about how good this is for children. Her children go to one of these preschools. She says that instead of sharing, the children must be completely done with a toy before another child can have it.
What do you think? Should children share?
GMA: D.L. Hughley Voted Off Dancing With the Stars
Comedian D.L. Hughley was voted off Dancing with the Stars this week. D.L. Hughley talked to GMA and said that everyone at Dancing with the Stars was having a difficult time on Monday dancing on the day of such a tragic event. “I think we realized it was a distraction for a lot of people, so the show had to go on and we did the best we could,” he said.
When they were talking about his performance on Monday, D.L. Hughley declared, “I don’t care about dancing.” He said that he “did it to have fun” but that it became “Hunger Games in tights.” He also said he was going to burn his dancing shoes on the way out of the building. D.L. Hughley said that he thought Jacoby Jones was going to win this year. He said that he wanted to be “Team Dick” but he really felt that Jacoby was going to win.
