Jennifer Lopez Quits American Idol?

American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez says she loves her gig on the judges’ panel of the #1 hit reality show. But she’s not yet sure whether she’ll be back for another season. That was just one of the stories making headlines on the May 24 2012 edition of Entertainment Tonight.

“We’ll have to see how everything falls, but it’s not because I don’t want to be here,” Jennifer Lopez told host Ryan Seacrest in a radio interview after the May 23 2012 finale.

She is reported to earn about $20 million for her gig on the Fox show; the network has no comment on Jennifer Lopez’s future with the show.

If Jennifer Lopez quits American Idol, it wouldn’t be the first shakeup on the show. Fellow judge Steven Tyler said he’s also in the dark about whether he’ll return to the show for its 2013 season.


American Idol Winner Phillip Phillips Surgery

The show’s audience is down about 25%, but New York Times reporter Brian Stelter said the judges are worth keeping on board, because have tune-in value for the show. Almost 21 million watched as Phillip Phillips was named the 2012 winner of American Idol.

The winner, Phillip Phillips, broke down crying during his victory song, and is expected to undergo emergency kidney surgery once he wraps up his promotional duties as the newest American Idol.

Will Smith: Men In Black 3

Media mogul Will Smith hit the red carpet in black plaid, while his wife Jada sported a Bill Blass halter dress. It was a family affair, with the couple’s children, Jaden and Willow, joining their parents on the red carpet.

Men In Black 3 opens nationwide May 25 2012, and features an all star cast in the anticipated sequel. At the premiere’s after party, fireworks and a performance by Pitbull entertained attendees.

Katy Perry: Part of Me Documentary

Across town, Katy Perry was busy entertaining the troops with a Fleet Week performance in New York City, donned in a star-spangled outfit designed by Johnny Wujek.

The singer’s behind the scenes documentary, Part Of Me, will be released in theaters July 5 2012. She’s also topping the Maxim Hot 100 list, coming in at #4 on the just released list.

Elton John’s Respiratory Problems

If you had tickets to see Elton John’s Las Vegas show this weekend, you’ll have to make other plans. The iconic piano man is ailing and has been hospitalized for “severe respiratory problems.” His performances have been cancelled for the rest of the week.

Sharon Stone’s Lawsuit for Racist Remarks

Sharon Stone is being sued by a former family nanny, who claims the star made derogatory racist remarks and was abusive during the nanny’s employment. Sharon Stone’s representatives believe the accusations are baseless and questioned the woman’s motive.

Also possibly pregnant is actress Reese Witherspoon. Doesn’t the ET team know that it’s impolite to ask a woman if she’s pregnant, and totally embarrassing if you find out she is not?

Sylvester Stallone The Tomb Preview

The Tomb, “a secret high tech prison,” is the setting for an upcoming action film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone, filming now for release in 2013. The two are also set to reprise their roles in The Expendables 2, a sequel set for an August 2012 release date.

Sylvester Stallone told ET that his wife, Jennifer Flavin, and his daughters, keep him in check when he starts to think that he’s in charge or has a sense of humor.
